Serge Grouard , Politician French, senior official and teaching in International relations and strategic, born the March 19th 1959 with Paris.

He is elected Maire of Orleans (UMP) in 2001 vis-a-vis Jean-Pierre Sueur (PS), outgoing Maire of two consecutive mandates.

He is elected appointed with more than 57% of the voices the June 16th 2002, for XIIe legislature (2002 - 2007), in the 2 district of the Loiret.

He belongs to the group UMP.

The June 17th 2007, it is re-elected appointed to 54,6% of the voices in the 2 district of the Loiret.

Political action

The municipal countryside of Serge Grouard was dominated by several topics of which safety, town planning and sustainable development but also opposition to the Tramway set up by the preceding municipality.

As regards safety, the town hall advances a fall of more than 50% of the delinquency of public highway compared to 2001 without providing background information.

Serge Grouard affirms to defend the idea that sustainable development is one of the major stakes of our century. He thus equipped the town of Orleans of a Diary 21 among the first of France. However the municipal opposition shows the mayor not to make it respect.

Under its mandate, the town of Orleans launched renovation projects urban in the districts and of restoration of the old center.

The municipality in addition wishes to encourage artistic creation and cultural by the organization of artistic contests, and many animations among which the Festival of the Loire, an initiative of the current municipal team.

Serge Grouard was classified by the newspaper the Express train as one of the least active deputies of the National Assembly with only one report/ratio which more is on the project of Loi relating to environmental protection in the Antarctic.
