Serge Girard
Serge Girard is a runner French born in 1953.
To advise financial of its trade, it takes up the challenge to cross all the Continent S while running, without only one day of rest on each crossing, at a rate of 70 km/j, for 10 hours of daily race.
In 1997, it crosses the North America in 1999 the Australia, the South America in 2001 and the Africa in 2003. September 5th, 2006, it completes in 260 days and 18 hours the crossing of Europe and Asia since Paris until Tokyo are 19.097 km and become thus the first man to have crossed all the continents while running.
In this last race, it crossed the following countries: the France, the Germany, the Austria, the Italy, the Croatia, the Bosnia-Herzégovine, the Albania, the Greece, the Turkey, the Iran, the Turkménistan, the Ouzbékistan, the Kyrgyzstan, the China and finally the Japan. The race was retranscribed from day to day on its personal site, in 20 million everlasting treads.
