Serge Dassault , born Serge Bloch the April 4th 1925 with Paris, wire of Marcel Dassault, is a Head of undertaking and a Politician French.

Studies

Industrial career

  • In 1951, it enters to Générale Aeronautics Marcel Dassault as engineer to the research department of the production aircraft.
  • In 1955, it is named director of in-flight tests (first flight of Mirage I).
  • In 1961, it is named export manager and lance Mystery 20 with the exposure of the National Business Aviation Association to Pittsburg of 1962.
  • In 1987, after having exerted several administrative duties in the group, it is named general president-director of Dassault Industries , become since July 8th, 1999 Industry group Marcel Dassault (Groupe Dassault, or GIMD).
  • In 1998, it is condemned in Belgium to two one-year suspended sentences for corruption within the framework of the business " Agusta".
  • In 2000, he becomes honorary president of Dassault Aviation ,
  • on July 8th, 2004, he becomes president of the Socpresse , press group publishing Le Figaro , as well as the magazines of the Groupe Express train-Expansion, which since changed owner.

Political career

Its mandate of senator was disputed because estimated incompatible with the direction of the Dassault Aviation company. By decision of the 12/23/2004, the Constitutional council considered that it is established only it controls this company, although being president of GIMD which has some more than 50%.

Family

He is the son of Marcel Dassault of which he inherited the Groupe Dassault (see also Dassault aviation). Whereas they were called Bloch, his/her parents, his brother and were stopped to him by the Gestapo then interned with Montluc and then with Drancy. His/her father was off-set with Buchenwald in August 1944 to have refused to bring to the Germans his aeronautical know-how. Married, it has 4 children: Olivier Dassault is Député (UMP) with the National Assembly; Laurent Dassault, 52 years, is in charge of the investments of the Dassault Group in the field of the vine growing, it is also President of the Council of Artcurial; Thierry, 46 years, specializes in the economic Intelligence; Marie-Helene, 39 years, is responsible for the communication and the Mécénat, and her husband, Benoît Habert, 41 years, is Executive vice president of the Dassault Group, in load of the strategy and the development.
