Serge Bertocchi

Serge Bertocchi is a Saxophoniste and teaching French born with Albertville on September 24th 1961.

It is titular first price of saxophone and chamber music of the Conservatoire higher national of music and dance of Paris, prize winner of national competitions and international. He worked with various musical personalities of the traditional, contemporary world or jazz: R. Aitken, Jean-Pierre Drouet, Daniel Deffayet, C. Larded, Yochk' O Seffer, François Jeanneau….

It founded the units XASAX, Ars Gallica, the Trio of Baritones (Corneloup/Lazro /Bertocchi), Newt Hinton together, the “fuzzy Subset”, Amiens Sax Project (12 sax); he is also member of the orchestras of Yochk' O Seffer, of the group Art Zoyd, four-bit byte FMR and New the Musiques unit (Mons).

Soloist, chambrist or improviser, it play in Europe, North America, Asia… It created nearly 150 new parts and collaborates with many type-setters: Georges Aperghis, Luciano Berio, Elliott Casing, Iannis Xenakis, Toru Takemitsu, Klaus Huber, Denis Badault, Kasper T. Toeplitz, Salvatore Sciarrino, Giorgio Netti, Pierre-Adrien Charpy, Marie-Helene Baker, Jacques Lejeune…

Professor with Amiens since 1985, it specializes in the pedagogy of the Modern music, is the author of various teaching collections.

Serge Bertocchi was founder president of the Association of the French saxophonists (A.Sax.) He specialized in the extreme or rare instruments of the family of the saxophones: Tubax (new sax double bass), sopranissimo in Bb (or Soprillo), C-melody or tenor in C, soprano in C, instruments " vintage" …
