Serekh
Serekh is the Egyptian name which indicates the rectangular framework in which was registered oldest of the names of the Pharaonic titulature: the Name of Horus. Its origins go up with the protodynastic time and it will be used until the Ancient Empire. Thus, the names of the kings of the Dynastie 0 are registered in a serekh.
The serekh is presented in the form of a rectangle surrounding the name hieroglyphic of the king, overcome by a falcon (symbol of the god Horus) and placed above the frontage of the royal palace. The rectangle could appear a plan of this same palate. What would accredit the thesis which sees in the serekh, following the example cartridge, a protection of the name of the king, against the negative forces.
