Sepultura

Sepultura is a group Brésil IEN founded by max Cavalera in 1984 made up of Derrick Green (Guitare and voice), Igor Cavalera (battery), Paulo Jr. (low) and of Andreas Kisser (guitar).

History of the group

Their the first two albums, Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions (1986), are directed Death metal with a typical sound of the Black metal of the time, while the two following ( Schizophrenia and Beneath the Remains ) sticks more to one kind of Thrash brutal metal and sinks gaining in speed and power. On the official partition of Cherry Lane Music (guitar), the album Beneath the Remains mark of its print the speed of the rhythmic guitars. Indeed, the fast parts exceed the album Reign in Blood of Slayer, a reference up to that point. The fast tempos have an average of 240 bpm, and arrive at 264 with the piece Stronger Than Hate .

Arise (1991) remains for much the album headlight of Sepultura, the group reaching its apogee as well at the technical level as in composition, but the opinions are divided because certain also prefer the following album ( Chaos A.D. ), different but quite as impressive.

Starting from the album Roots (1996), the group turns to a mixture of Brazilian traditional music already started on ( Chaos A.D. ) and of metal. In 1996, the vocalist and guitarist max Cavalera leaves the group, it will create Soulfly thereafter. The group is then a substitute in the person of Derrick Green and evolves to a style rather hardcore, even Neo metal with ethnic tendency. Roorback (2003), seems to indicate a return towards the inspiration first with sonorities much more metal that the three precedents.

Shortly after the exit of Dante XXI , the beater Igor Cavalera left the group, following creative and personal differences. It was replaced by Jean Dolabella.
