Septicemic plague
The septicemic Peste is most of the time a complication of the Bubonic plague, due with to a very important multiplication of the bacillus S in blood circulation. This variety of Peste appears when defenses of the lymphatic ganglia and the other types of defense are exceeded. The lesions which appear in certain bodies are the following ones:
- myocardic (ignition of the myocardium constituting the cardiac muscle itself) and which one names interstitial diffuses, it is accompanied by a dilation (increase in volume) of the Cœur;
- a destruction of fabrics composing the Liver;
- a destruction of the Spleen which occurs in a diffuse way.
- a renal attack and more specifically of the Cluster S (zone allowing the filtration of blood to obtain the Urine) which contains thrombi (small blood clot composed of fibrin which is a variety of protein)
- occurred of a disturbance of the blood coagulation to type of disseminated intravascular Coagulation (small blood clot being constituted in general blood circulation) which can be at the origin of an attack of the vessels, of Ecchymose S and Pétéchie S (small cutaneous hemorrhage).
When the disease reaches this stage, the Pronostic remains extremely held, even with average the therapeutic current ones of reanimation of the developed countries.
The patients reached of septicemic plague also present demonstrations such as nausea S, Vomissement S, Diarrhée S and pains abdominal. Is added again a Hypotension (falls of the blood-pressure) refractory (which one manages with difficulty to recover) and a Gangrène (destruction of fabrics) of the ends. The Méningite is an unusual demonstration of the plague.
