A sensille is a cuticular structure at the Insecte S and others Arthropode S whose function is the sensory entry. The sensilles can take varied forms (silks, plates, cavity…). They shelter sensory Neuron S which ensure the detection of the stimuli (odors, tastes, heat, moisture…). These neurons are connected with the Nervous system of the insect.
Les sensilles is numerous on the bodies of the directions (antennas, Palpes…) but are also on all the body of the insect, such as for example on the legs. Thus when a Mouche is posed on food, it knows immediately if this one is appropriate to him or not.

sensilles campaniform

The word Campaniforme means that they are structures in form of bell. The campaniform sensilles are localized at the base of the Haltères of the insects (Mouche S and others Diptère S, Strepsiptère S). The haltères while vibrating tend to maintain their plan of vibration, and if the body of the insect turns or changes direction into flight, a force of torsion develops that the animal detects. These sensilles is Mécanorécepteur S. When the exosquelette yields the resulting force stimulates it. A nervous signal is produced and east transmitted then towards the central nervous system.

Sensilles of the sense of smell and the taste

These sensilles has a surface covered with Mucus, in which Enzyme S are excreted, in particular of the enzymes releasing the neuronal receivers their exiting molecules.
Ce is these sensilles which block of the products like DEET, répusif anti-mosquito.
