Senegalese popular party

The Senegalese Popular party (PS) is a political party Senegal board, of which the leader is Dr. Oumar Wone, general doctor.

History

The PS was officially created on October 12th 1981, whereas the country had just reached the integral Multipartisme.

The PS is presented to the legislative elections of 1983, joins together 0,20% of the votes, which does not enable him to be represented with the National Assembly. Care leader, Oumar Wone, are candidate with the presidential election which takes place the same day and sees the renewal of the mandate of the president Abdou Diouf. Dr. Wone is credited with 2.146 votes, that is to say 0,20% of the votes cast.

At the time of the legislative elections of 2001 the PS collects 6.832 votes, that is to say 0,36% and does not obtain any seat.

Orientation

It is a party Nationaliste.

Its objectives are “total and final liquidation neocolonialism and other after-effects of colonialism, the company reconstruction sénégalaise on new and scientific bases, the construction of a solid economy sénégalaise directed in priority towards the satisfaction of the needs for the Senegalese people and the research of the full employment”.

Symbols

Its color is the white. Its flag consists of a red chart with in overprinting Senegal, a peasant, a workman holding a cross hammer and a hoe.

Organization

Its seat is with Diourbel.

It publishes a periodical, the monthly magazine Doomu Rew semi ( the Patriot ), launched in 1982.
