Senate of the United States
The Sénat of the United States ( United States Senate ) is the Upper House Congrès of the United States which constitutes the Legislative power. The Lower House is the Chambre of the representatives.
The senators are fewer and elected officials for one duration longer than the Representatives, what supports a more collegial atmosphere and less partisane|date= September 11th, 2007 . , it is a “Lower House”. The Senate, more reserved, represents the States is the “Upper House”. Besides the name of Sénat refers to the assembly of the people most considered in Rome Antique.
Role
The role of the Senate of the east United States mainly to vote the federal laws. But he also advises, to a certain extent, the government, and ratifies certain nominations of them. Thus, it:- gives its agreement to the nomination of the Secretaries (ministers) named by the president.
- gives its agreement to the nomination of the judges to the Supreme court of the United States of America
- gives its agreement to the nomination of the ambassadors and of the federal senior officials
- authorizes in the majority of two thirds (what represents 67 senators out of 100) the ratification of the Traité S by the president
- vote the “ Impeachment ” in the majority of two thirds on committal for trial of the Room of the representatives.
The constitution stipulates that the approval of the two rooms is necessary so that a law is ratified. However, the exclusive capacities conferred on the Senate are regarded as more important than those of the Room of representatives. The responsibilities for the Senate are thus wider than those of the Room of the representatives. The President of the United States cannot ratify treaties or make important choices without the opinion and the assent of the Senate.

According to the Constitution, the Vice-président of the United States chairs the Senate but has the right to vote to only decide between in the event of equality. Election

To be eligible, the candidate has had to be at least 30 years old and to be of American Nationalité for at least 9 years.
