Senate (Spain)
The Sénat ( be Senado ) is the Upper House the Spanish Cortes Generales.
It is composed of a variable number senators, elected by an analog and digital system:
- Each autonomous community elects at least a senator, plus one per million inhabitants living in his spring.
- the other senators are directly elected, at a rate of four senators per province, three for senators for the islands of Gran Canaria, Majorque there Tenerife, two senators respetivement for Ceuta and Melilla, and a senator for the islands of Ibiza, Minorque, Fuerteventura, Gomera, Hierro, Lanzarote, and Palma.
