The Semnoz (known as also massive of Semnoz) is a mountain of average 16 kilometers altitude (1699 meters) long in the north of the Massif of the Wallows, of which it forms part, between Annecy and Allèves (cluse of Banges) in a north-eastern/south-western direction. It is located in Haute-Savoie.
Top of Crêt de Châtillon where there is a table of orientation, one has a panoramic sight on the various solid masses in the neighborhoods: Mont Blanc, Massive of the Jewel cases, lake Léman, etc Paradoxically, one sees very little the Lac of Annecy.
A road goes up almost until in top allowing the people not being able to make long walks admire a splendid landscape.

The solid mass of Semnoz is managed by Intercommunity association for the protection and the installation of Semnoz, also called Sipas in collaboration with the ONF (National office of the forests) and the SAE (Alternative solutions Environment).
the mountain pastures : The top and the zones reserved for the ski station become mountain pastures during the summer, with a small production of volume, butter and chevrotin.
Occasionally at the top, of the evenings of astronomical observation is proposed with the general public at the time of exceptional astronomical events.
