Selvagens islands

The Wild Îles ( Ilhas Selvagens portuguais some) are a Archipel consisted of three island S principal and several small island S. They are located in the septentrional Atlantique, and is between the island of Madeira (to 280 kilometers) and the islands the Canaries (with 165 kilometers).

The archipelago is made of two groups of islands: in north " Isla Mayor or Salvaje Large (Selvagem Large) " who has a roughly rectangular form with 1 kilometer and half broad for kilometer and half length.

The exclusive economic Zone around these islands is the subject of a litigation between the Portugal and the Spain.

The Wild Islands were discovered in 1438 by the Portuguese sailor Diogo Gomes of Sintra, at the time of a voyage since the Guinea towards Portugal.
