Seloncourt
Seloncourt is a common French, located in the department of the Doubs and the area Franche-Comté.
The inhabitants are called the Seloncourtois , or also the Cossis . This second name comes from the word “thimble”, which means Citrouille.
Geography
Seloncourt is a village of the east of France, located at approximately 10km of the border Suisse.The communes bordering are: Audincourt, Bondeval, Dasle, Hérimoncourt, Thulay, Valentigney and Vandoncourt.
History
The XIXe century was marked by an industrial boom. In Seloncourt, it is mainly the Horlogerie which develops, and which specializes in the clothes industry of spare parts, of watches, alarm clocks and pendulums.The big bosses of the time build superb residences, of which some are always visible today.

In 1588, Seloncourt counted 116 inhabitants.

- the Castle Jean-Pierre Peugeot or castle of Bannot, which was the residence of the founder of the Football Club Sochaux-Montbeliard (FCSM) in 1928. It lodges since June 8th 2000, the Training center with the trades of football Roland Peugeot training center of FCSM.
- the Temple, built at the beginning of the XXe century to mitigate the smallness of the old woman church. It shelters a Nef whose ceiling consists of wood and is supported by columns in blue Granite of the the Vosges.
