Selima Sfar (rear RTL سليمةصفر), born the July 8th 1977 with Sidi Bou Saïd, is a player of Tennis Tunisia.

Biography

At the thirteen years age, it leaves Tunisia to be involved in France at the sides of Nathalie Tauziat and Régis of Camaret. Among juniors, it gains in 1992 the Arab Junior Individual and reaches the quarterfinals to Roland-Garros.

She becomes Professionnel in 1999. In 2000, it qualifies for the large table with the US Open: it is the first Tunisian one to carry out such a performance. In 2001, its most remarkable season, it plays three of the four tests of the Grand Slam (except for the Open of Australia), reaching each time the 2nd turn.

Representing regular of its country in Fed Cup, it takes part in 1996 in the Olympic Games of Atlanta where it is beaten with the 1st turn by the Dutchwoman Brenda Schultz-McCarthy.

Selima Sfar did not gain a tournament WTA during its career, its best result remaining a semi-final into double ladies with the Open of Stockholm in 2006 at the sides of Stéphanie Cohen-Aloro. Selima Sfar nevertheless was essential on 28 recoveries (including 17 in double) on the circuit ITF.
