Selim Benachour

Selim Benachour (rear RTL سليمبنعاشور), born the September 8th 1981 with Paris, is a player of Football free - Tunisia N playing station of offensive medium. It measures 1,70 m for 73 kg.

Native of the capital, it passes by Clairefontaine at the time of his formation. He illustrates himself as of his young age. At 11 years, it finishes better striker and better player of the international Tournament of Plomelin (Brittany) which it gains.

To the international level, Benachour carries the shirt of the team of France of less than 16 years and less than 20 years before refusing its selection by Raymond Domenech where his station is barred by Zinedine Zidane, Sylvain Wiltord, Robert Pirès and Youri Djorkaeff and obtains the green light of the French federation of football to integrate the Tunisian national selection.

World cup 2006

In 2006, in spite of good services in club, Roger Lemerre does not retain it for the world cup 2006 due to a light wound which intervenes right before the competition and which requires 10 days of rest. The May 14th, Lemerre informs Benachour that it needs operational players immediately but takes with him other players wounded like the striker of the selection, Francileudo Santos, which disputed only 10 minutes during all the world cup. After the competition, Benachour publishes an official statement in which he affirms that he will not return in national team as long as Lemerre will remain with the head of the Tunisian team. However, in 2007, it publishes a new official statement announcing its return whereas Lemerre always directs the national team.
