Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Universiti

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Universiti or SMKTUN is a secondary school located at Jalan Pendidikan, Taman Universiti, Johor, Malaysia.

History

It began the operation the 1st December 1994 with 1001 students and 46 professors. Because of the problems of infrastructure and lack of buildings, the students had to follow classes to a provisional school which was Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Taman Universiti 2 and Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Taman Sri Pulai with 644 and 349 students respectively. The first head professor (headmaster) of this school was Mr Ahmad bin Atil.

Over April 3rd 1995, the school began the operation on the site where it is today. In 1998, the school was identified like a school of d'" category; A" with 2837 students and 124 professors. The number of students increased each year. To reduce the number of students, one built new schools around the sector which are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Universiti 2, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mutiara Rini, and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Desa Skudai. Consequently, in 2002 the number of students had fallen with 2161 pupils which carry out to improve the report/ratio of student-professor.
