Seigniory of Ascalon

The seigniory of Ascalon is a stronghold of the Royaume of Jerusalem. The town of Ascalon was taken by the crusaders only in 1153. Starting from this date the seigniory was attached to the Comté of Jaffa, so that this last is often named county of Jaffa and Ascalon . Ascalon was conquered by Saladin 1187 with 1192, and definitively taken again by the Moslems in 1244.
