Segusiaves

History

Populate of Celtic Gaulle, allied and customers of Eduens. They were established on Right Bank of the Rhone, the Saone separated them from Ambarres and Allobroges; they had in the south Vellaves for neighbors, and in north Helviens. Their territory constituted a zone of passage between Eduens and the Province. They adopted Avernes of which they underwent the vicinity and sent troops to the army of help of Alésia. Their center was the Forum Segusiavorum (Feurs). Lugdunum (Lyon), according to Strabon, would have been founded on their territory and with the site of the one their centers.
