Sefrou (in Arabic: rear RTL ''' صفرو ''') is a city of the Morocco located at 28 km of Fès, with the foot of the Average Atlas, province belonging to the area Fès-Boulmane.
Set up in Municipality, since 1917, the town of Sefrou was high with the row of chief town of the new Province of Sefrou at January 1st 1991 which account 23 communes (5 rural municipalities and 18 communes). The commune is twinned with Blotzheim in the Département of Haut-Rhin, in France.
It is crossed by a river which is called " Agay" wadi; without forgetting its famous cascade which remains a tourist place to visit and its close relations lakes who offer to the visitors one strolls unforgettable.
The city is known by the festival of the cherries (Moussem de Heb Lemlouk).
The cherries of Sefrou and their festival are re-elected in all the Kingdom of Morocco and this, since 1920. Several organizations take care and take part in the organization of the festival of cherries at the beginning of June of each year. The festival of cherries is not only one cultural activity, but it is an occasion to expose and sell the various varieties of cherries cultivated in the oasis of Sefrou and its surroundings.
The festival lasts three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday): days of dance, songs and processions under the presidency of the " Queen of Cerises". This one is selected among the most beautiful girls candidates. In parallel, several sports activities and cultural are organized on this occasion.
