Seeadler

The of Seeadler was a square Trois-mâts, built into 1878 in the United States of America, armed with the trade and sailing under the name of “ in Step off Balmaha ”. Captured in 1916 by the Germany, it was transformed with Bremerhaven (camouflaged then under the name of Walter, Navire school) into ship corsair, was armed with 2 gun S of 105 and was arranged in order to be able to give the illusion to be inoffensive at the time of the approach of other ships. Famous by its commander, the count Felix Von Luckner: “the eagle of the seas”, in German of Seeadler , it undoubtedly became the last ship Corsaire listed to date.

The Seeadler left Germany on December 21st, 1916, with for mission of tackling, of plundering and of running the maximum of cargo liner S combined throughout the world. Under the Camouflage of a tradind ship, it adopted, according to the circumstances, the appearance of a Norwegian, British or American ship in order to better mislead its preys until the fateful moment.
