Section of the Soldiers of the gardes-fran1caises

The Section of the Soldiers of the gardes-fran1caises was represented with the Commune of Paris by:

  • Jean-Baptist-Mathieu Dhazard (1758-1794), wig maker, guillotine on Thermidor 11 year (July 29th, 1794),
  • Jean-Antoine Forestier, founder, (1755-1794), guillotine on Thermidor 10 year (July 28th, 1794),
  • Gamory.

This section was named in the beginning section of the Oratory and changed name in September 1792.

Territory: Rectangle in the north of the section of the Natural history museum, between this one and the Street Saint-Honore. The Rue of Rivoli crosses it.

Population: 12.850 inhabitants, including 1680 workmen and 305 lower-income group.

This section remained faithful to the national Convention on Thermidor 9 year (July 29th, 1794), while two of its representatives lent oath to the Commune of Paris, they were guillotines Thermidor 10 and 11 year (July 28th and 29th 1794).
