Secret Australian Intelligence Service

The Australian Secret Intelligence Service (SITTED) is the external Intelligence service Australia N. It was created in 1952 but its existence was revealed officially only in 1977 by Malcolm Fraser, then Prime Minister. The service is the equivalent of the American CIA and the British MI6, with which he collaborates narrowly. It deals of counter-terrorism and prevention of the proliferation of the Armes of massive destruction. The SITTED one is very active in Asia and in the Southern Pacific. He also collaborates in Alliance Bases. Its seat is with Canberra.

To note

The cooperation with its New Zealand counterpart, the Security Intelligence Service, is very close: the SITTED one has an office with Wellington.
