Secondary school Gabriel-Dumont
secondary École Gabriel-Dumont is one of the two French-speaking secondary schools of London, Ontario, Canada. It is located street Huron in the Center Deslogues (CDL) , in the north-eastern corner of the city. CDL is also the site of the catholic French-speaking secondary school (secondary École Mgr-Heather), the community center free-Ontarian of London and a parish. The school takes its name of the chief Métis Gabriel Dumont.
The percentage of French-speaking people with London is very low. But, it is one of the areas which qualifies for services of French languages under the Law on the French services and there is a population for schools of languages Frenchwoman. A French-speaking elementary school exists has London since 1972, it was not until 1979 qu' a secondary school was to form. In an original manner it was that a class in the building of London Central Secondary School. With time there was a growth and the program developed to include/understand an education there supplements and searched known under the names the school Module of French language (MSLF). In 1998, there were political reorganizations on the level of the school councils and the MSLF became Gabriel-Dumont.
It is in reference to that Gabriel-Dumont moved in a new building with the Catholic school. The project which was CDL took more than ten years to be born, because of the political dissensions.
