Second violin
In a symphonic orchestra of Music, the second violins are the Violoniste S placed more inside the formation. They form, with the first violins, a big part of the orchestra, sometimes the majority when there are few winds.
The expression the second violin appoints the chief of desk (or chief of attack ) of the second violins, it must direct them partially, with the Leader.
The expression the second violin can also be applied in a String quartet. It is about one of the two violins; the rules of traditional composition assign a part systematically less acute to him than that of the first violin.
