The qualifier of “second” refers to the first school of Vienna, which appoints the type-setters Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert.
The second school, as for it, appoints the type-setters Arnold Schönberg, Alban Berg and Anton Webern, which was, at the beginning of the 20th century, the precursors of the Modern music, exploring the Atonalité, the Dodécaphonisme and the Sérialisme.
