Second Tactical Air Force

The Second Tactical Force was one of the three tactical air forces of the Royal Air Force, during the Second world war. It was formed, in June 1943, starting from No.2 Group of the Bomber Command and of No.83 Group and No.84 Group, of the Fighter Command. It was initially directed by the Air Marshall Sir John d' Albiac, then starting from January 21st 1944, the Air Marshall Arthur Coningham which had ordered the Desert Air Force before, in North Africa and Italy. Second Tactical Air Force ensured the support of the British and Canadian forces, forming the left wing of combined on the continent. After the end of the hostilities in Europe, on July 15th 1945, it was famous British Air Forces off Occupation.
