Second Age

In the work of J.R.R. Tolkien, the Second Age is one era which extends on: 3441 years, between the First and the Third Age. It is marked by the rise, the apogee and the fall of the human kingdom of Númenor, from which result the kingdoms “in exile” from Arnor and Gondor.

Chronology of the Second Age

1 - Foundation of Mithlond, the Gray Harbor, by Círdan, and of the Lindon, the kingdom ñoldorin of Gil-galad.
32 - the Edain reach Númenor. Elros is crowned first king of the island.
v. 40 - many Nains gives up the cities in ruins of Belegost and Nogrod in the Ered Luin and joins the people of Durin in the Moria.
v. 500 - Sauron is agitated again out of Ground of the Medium.
600 - first Númenóréens turn over in Ground of the Medium.
750 - the Ñoldor found the kingdom of Eregion, close to Moria.
v. 1000 - Sauron is established with the Mordor and begins the construction of Barad-hard.
v. 1200 - Sauron allures Ñoldor d' Eregion, but Gil-official reception is wary of him. Númenóréens start to establish Ground permanent ports of the Medium, inter alia in Lond Daer and Umbar.
v. 1500 - Educated by Sauron, Ñoldor d' Eregion, of which most gifted among them, Celebrimbor, grandson of Fëanor, start to forge the Anneaux of Being able.
v. 1600 - Sauron forges the Single Anneau, and Barad-hard is completed.
1693 - Beginning of the war enters the Elfe S and Sauron; the Three rings of the Elves are hidden.
1695 - Elrond is sent in Eregion like herald of Gil-galad.
1697 - Eregion is devastated by the armies of Sauron, which kills Celebrimbor. Elrond founds the refuge of Imladris.
1699 - Imladris and Lindon is besieged.
1700 - Tar-Minastir sends a powerful fleet to Lindon: Sauron is overcome and its forces must withdraw Eriador.
v. 1800 - Númenóréens starts to establish Ground permanent colonies of the Medium. They start to fall under the yoke from the Shade.
v. 2250 - Númenóréens divide between Hommes of the King, in favor of the rupture with the Elves, and Faithful, who wish to maintain the old friendship between the two people. Appearance of the Nazgûl.
2280 - the port of Umbar is strengthened by Númenóréens.
2350 - Construction of Pelargir by the Faithful ones.
2899 - Ar-Adûnakhôr becomes the twentieth king of Númenor and the first to take a name Adûnaic, the language of the Men, and not in Quenya.
3177 - Ar-Inziladûn repend and takes the name Quenya of Tar-Palantir Clear-sighted the ; it results a civil war with Númenor from it.
3255 - Ar-Pharazôn Gilded the Marie with her Míriel cousin, the girl of Tar-Palantir, and usurps the throne of Númenor.
3261 - Ar-Pharazôn accosts in Umbar to face Sauron.
3262 - Sauron is taken along as prisoner to Númenor, where it starts to corrupt the heart of Númenóréens.
3319 - Ar-Pharazôn launches a gigantic fleet to the conquest of Aman (Ground of the Medium). By the intervention of Eru, Númenor is submerged and the world becomes round. Elendil, chief of the Faithful last, and its sons accost out of Ground of the Medium.
3320 - Foundation of the kingdoms of the Gondor and Arnor by Elendil and its sons, Isildur and Anárion.
3429 - Sauron conquers Minas Ithil and burns the white Arbre; Isildur goes in Arnor while Anárion defends Osgiliath.
3430 - Formation of the Last alliance of the elves and the men.
3434 - the forces of Sauron are overcome in the battle of Dagorlad. Barad-hard is besieged.
3441 - Sauron leaves in person Barad-hard to break the seat; it is overcome by Elendil and Gil-galad, which perish. Isildur cut the finger of Sauron carrying the Single Ring: Sauron loses its physical existence, and Nazgûl disappear. After the war, much Elves leave for Valinor: the title of High-king of Ñoldor carried by Gil-galad disappears with him.
