History
Etymology
The Blason of the city represents a lion upright with a crown. It symbolizes its early allegiance with the King de France.
The Flandres are famous to have been commercial and specialized in the manufacture of Textile S. Seclin does not escape this reputation and even posts by its name: dry flax associated with .

- the Hospital Notre-Dame
- the fort of Seclin, called Strong Duhoux, fact part of the fortifications inhabitants of Lille of the system of the System Séré de Rivières, it was built between 1875 and 1880. It is an example in very good state. It is thus patiently restored since 1996 by private individuals, who, since October 2003, there opened a Musée on artillery, the cavalry and the infantry of 1814 to 1918, therefore on the First World War (it was then an ignored strategic site), where many rare parts are presented.
