Sebastiano Serlio (Bologna September 6th 1475 - Fontainebleau 1554) was Architecte and Italian Sculpteur of the Renaissance.

He followed the teaching of Baldassarre Peruzzi.

He initially worked with Rome of 1514 with 1527 where he worked at Baldassarre Peruzzi. Few buildings subsitent of this time like to Venice or he lived of 1527 with 1540.

Called at the court of France by François Ier initially in an advisory capacity for the construction of the Castle of Fontainebleau. He became thereafter architect as a chief at the court and built several castles of which the Château of Ancy-the-Franc and the castle of Troissereux.

But its greater contribution to architecture is on all its treaty on architecteure in 8 volumes, written in optics to be used as handbook illustrated for the architects and had much influence in France, in Holland as in England where they were regarded as great models of the architecture of the Italian rebirth.

At the end of its life, it will be devoted to the construction of Théâtre S.

It remained in the memory of the architects for the Serlienne.
