Sebastián de Belalcázar
Sebastián de Belalcázar , captain and Spanish explorer.
He assisted Francisco Pizarro in the conquest of the News-Grenade and the Peru, Quito towards 1533 seized, was governor, then passed to the government Popayan, in which he had to support a long war against Almagro; it founded Guayaquil. He died towards 1550.
