Sebastián Piñera

Sebastián Piñera is a Politician and business man Chile in, born on February 1st 1949. He studies the economy, first of all with the Universidad Católica de Chile, then with the Université of Harvard, where he obtains his doctorate of economy in 1975.

In 1979, it brings the first credit cards to Chile.

Near in its youth to the Christian-Democrats, its economic options bring it closer to the liberals of right-hand side who support the mode of the General Augusto Pinochet. Joaquín Lavín, finishing third in the elections went to support Sebastían Piñera for the second turn. With 46,77% of the voices Sebastián Piñera however failed vis-a-vis Michelle Bachelet who was elected president on January 15th, 2006.
