Season LNH 1951-1952

The season LNH 1951 - 52 was the 35e regular season of the National league of hockey. The six teams played each one 70 matches.

Regular season

Conn Smythe promised a reward of: 10000 Dollars with that which could find the trace of Bill Barilko, disappeared since the August 26th. Barilko and its dentist, Doctor Henry Hudson, disappeared whereas they were on an aircraft. The remainders of the plane were found 10 years later.

Montreal opened the season with a crowd of: 15100 fans who attended the victory of the Canadians over the Blackhawks of Chicago over the score of 4-2. Maurice Richard registered a goal and its friend Bernie Geoffrion two.

Because of the weak multitudes of Chicago, the frankness decided to try out the matches the afternoon. The experiment was successful and the January 20th 1952: 13600 supporters were presented to attend the match (which was unfortunately a defeat against Toronto on the score of 3 goals to 1).

During the last evening of matches of the season, the March 23rd 1952: 3254 fans transfer the player of Chicago, Bill Mosienko to register the fastest triplet of the history of the league: 3 goals in 21 seconds. Mosienko was assisted the three times by Gus Bodnar and misled Lorne Anderson Rangers of New York (victory of Chicago 7 goals with 6).

For the 4th consecutive time the Red Wings de Détroit gained the championship.
