During this one, before Chestnuts, Dave Trottier was crossed and had to leave the ice in order to be recousu. It had not reached the cloakrooms that its fellow-member Baldy Northcott registered the goal of the victory propelling Maroons in semi-final. The Rangers of New York were essential vis-a-vis the Canadian of Montreal thanks to Bill Cook. Hainsworth once again carried out large macths vis-a-vis Rangers and it was thus Maple Leafs which reached the finale.
