The season 1918 - 19 is the second season of the National league of hockey. Each team played 18 parts.

Regular season

20 parts were planned for each team in regular season but second half of the season was shortened with eight matches since the Arenas of Toronto had to suspend their operations following difficulties financial. With only 2 teams, the league decided to play a series of 4-with-7 (victory for 4 gained matches) to define which would meet the champion of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association for the Coupe Stanley.

eliminatory Series of the Cut Stanley

A series of 4-of-7 took place to decide on the winner of the LNH which would face the champions of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association and it was Montreal, victorious of Ottawa 4-1, which went to defy the Metropolitans of Seattle.

After 5 parts, the series is with equality 2-2 with a tie. The sixth meeting is planned for on April 1st 1919 but the pandemia of Spanish Grippe force the cancellation of the series because several players is affected. Four days later, a player of the Canadians, Joe Hall, die of this epidemic. It is the first as of twice of the history of the LNH which the Stanley Cut is not given, the second being at the time of the Saison LNH 2004-05 which was cancelled.
