The season 1974 - 75 of the American Ligue of hockey was the 39e season of the league. Ten teams played the regular season. The Indians de Springfield gained their fourth Coupe Calder.

Change of franknesses

• the Brave of Boston, Barons de Jacksonville and Swords of Cincinnati cease their activities.
• the Eagles of Syracuse unite with the league.
• the Kings de Springfield take again their label of origin: the Indians .

Regular season

Because of the stopping of the Clippers of Baltimore in the course of season, the other teams did not play all the same number of matches.

Because of the defection of the Clippers in the course of season, the eight best teams of the league are qualified for the séries.
Tous the matches of the series are disputed with best of the seven matches and are organized in the form of tree:

• the first of Northern division meets the fourth of this same division. The second meets the third. The winners meet.
• the first of Southern division meets the fifth of Northern division (qualified because finishing with more points than the fourth of Southern division). The second and the third meet. The winners meet.
• gaining Them of each half of final table disputes the Calder cut.
