The season 1962 - 63 of the American Ligue of hockey was the 27e season of the league. Last nine teams played each one 72 matches.

the series between the first two teams of each division is played best of the seven matches. The winner is qualified directly for the final which is also played best of the seven matches.
the second and the third of each division clash with best of the 3 matches. The winners meet then with best of the 5 matches. Gaining argument the final.
