Season LAH 1947-1948
The season 1947 - 48 of the American Ligue of hockey was the twelfth season of the league. Eleven teams divided into two divisions played each one 68 matches. The Barons de Cleveland gain to them 4th Coupe Calder.
For the first time since the creation of the league in 1936, of new trophies were created. Four, they came in complement from the two trophies of team founded since the birth from the LAH, putting forward individual qualities:
- Trophy Cunningham: Better player of the league (also called the most useful player)
- Trophy Wally Kilrea: Better pointer of the league (player having collected the most points)
- Trophy Dudley “Red” Garret: Better player beginning from the league (also called better recruit)
- Trophy Harry “Hap” Holmes: Guard with the smallest average of allocated goals (having played at least 50% of the matches of its team)

The three first of each division are qualifiés.Les matches of the series are organized as follows:
- the winners of each division clash with best of the seven matches, the winner reaches directly the finale.
- the second of each division clash with best of the three matches, the third make in the same way. The winners clash with best of the three matches. The winner reaches the finale.
- the final is played best of the seven matches.
