The season 1938 - 39 of the American Ligue of hockey was the troisème season of the league known then under the name of International-American Hockey League .

Eight teams divided into two divisions clashed in one season when the number of matches played by each team passed from 48 match the former season to 54 for this one.

The Bears de Hershey gained the Trophée F.G. “Teddy” Oke and the Barons de Cleveland the Cut Calder.
