  • the manor of Possonnière where was born Pierre de Ronsard on September 10th, 1524, of the union of Loys de Ronsard and Jeanne Chaudrier, junior by the three alive ones. Loys or Louis de Ronsard, of return of the wars of Italy, decorated about 1515 the manor of sculptures which seem being one of the first manifestations of the penetration of the Italian Renaissance in France, and of currencies which are as many recalls of philosophies Christian woman and pagan.
  • the Bellerie fountain: the Bellerie source was very close to the manor of Possonnière where Ronsard passed its youth. One can still see it became the fountain of the Beautiful-Iris.
  • the forest of Gâstine, which extended to the south from Possonnière
  • Isle Verte was a priviligié place of the poet, it came there to walk, dream and read its dear Greek and Latin poets. Bient which he elected this site for last residence, he is buried with the Prieuré of Saint-Cosme (close to Tours).
  • Church of Seam: it carries on the main entrance the armorial bearings of Ronsard. The monument is composed of several constructions going back to different times. The nave dates from the 12th century; the chorus was built, perhaps even rebuilt, at the 13th century; important modifications were made to this church by Louis de Ronsard, father of the poet, who made build his castle of Possonnière, located on the parish.

The manor of Possonnière is a private property today. However, it is opened with the public from April 1st to November 1st saturdays, Sunday and bank holidays with 15:30 and 16:30; moreover, from June 16th to August 31st Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with 15:30. Personalities related to the commune

  • Pierre de Ronsard was born to with it the September 10th 1524, under the reign of François Ier, and lived its first twelve years there, hearing as of this time the call of the Muses. In 1536, it was page of the Francois, dolphin deceased on August 10th, then in January 1537, it was it of Madeleine de France, queen of Scotland. It will return to France in December 1538. The emanating charm of Possonnière is with the image of the print left by the poet vendômois in the French literature.

• 1525: Loys de Ronsard, fact captive in Pavia, accompanies François Ier in his captivity by Madrid, from which it returns only in 1530.
