Seagull of Audouin

The seagull of Audouin ( Larus audouinii ) is one of the 12 species of seagulls and gulls of the kind '' alive Larus '' in France. The name of this species commemorates the French zoologist Victor Audouin (1797-1841).

This species meets only at sea the Mediterranean and to a lesser extent along the Moroccan coasts. The principal colonies meet in the delta of the Ebre. In France some couples nest in the Corsica Camargue and . Contrary to many other species of seagulls, the seagull of Audouin is not vulture and nourishes only fish.

Very rare species formerly, the seagull of Audouin saw its population increasing and being established in the neighborhoods of 19.000 couples.
