Sea of Oman

The sea of Oman , also called sea of Arabia , is part of the Indian Ocean located between the Pakistan and the Western India at the east, and the Arabic peninsula in the west. It is prolonged in north by the Golfe of Oman. Its surface is approximately 3,6 million km ², and its maximum depth is of 5  800 meters.

The sea is a very attended way of passage, in particular for the transport of Pétrole. It is also a zone of fishing for the coastal countries (Sardine, Maquereau, Thon).

The main ports are Sohar, Mascate and Sûr on the side Omani, Jāsk and Chāhbahār on the Iranian side .
