The sea of Labrador (60°00' NR, 55°00' W) is part of the Atlantic Ocean between the Labrador (Canada) and the Greenland. Its depth in its medium can reach 3000 m and it is surrounded by continental coasts in south-west, the North-West and the North-East. It is connected to north with the Baffin bay through the Détroit of Davis.

The sea of Labrador was constituted by a progressive spacing of sea-beds, the process began approximately 61 million years ago to cease 40 million years ago. For the glacial period, the North-American layer poured regularly many Iceberg S in the sea of Labrador. The rocks taken with the trap of these icebergs settled on the sea-bed where they form an erratic glacial layer.

One of largest the veins of Turbidite in the world traverses the sea of Labrador of north towards the south, in its medium.
