The sea of Greenland is a Mer of the icy ocean Arctique located between the Greenland and the Spitzberg of a surface from approximately 1 2005 000 km ².
It communicates with the Mer of Norway in the south and the Mer of Barents in the east. The sea of Greenland is the principal opening between the two Arctic Oceans and the Atlantic. Because of the presence of many icebergs, its northern part is seldom navigable
The average depth is of 1450 m, its more great depth proven is of 4800 Mr. The sea of Greenland is rich microrganisms, bases food chain marinades, of many invertebrate fish like the Morue, the Hareng, the Saumon, the Flétan and the sail needle, of birds and marine mammals of which seals, whales and dolphins.
