The sea of Andaman is a sea tributary of the Indian Ocean, bordering the coasts of the Myanmar, of the Thailand, the Malaysia, the Indonesia and the Indian territories of the islands Andaman and Nicobar. It is limited to north and the east by the Indo-China and the Malayan Péninsule, to the south by the Détroit of Malacca and the island of Sumatra and to the west by the islands of Andaman and Nicobar, which separate it from the Bay of Bengal.
