Sečanj

Sečanj , in Serb Cyrillic Сечањ, in Hungarian Szécsány or Torontálszécsány, in German Setschan or Petersheim, is a locality and a municipality of Serbia located in the autonomous province of Voïvodine. They belong to the district of the central Banat. In 2002, the locality counted: 2647 inhabitants and the municipality of which it is the center: 16377, including 70,87% of Serbes and 12,63% of Hungarian.

Sečanj is officially classified among the villages of Serbia.

Localities of the municipality of Sečanj

All the localities have a Serb majority of settlement, except for Busenje, where a majority of Hungarian saw. Konak, Neuzina and Šurjan have a Serb relative majority.
