Seán O\' Casey

Seán O' Casey (March 30th 1880 - September 18th 1964) is a Dramaturge Irish major.

Socialist and engaged nationalist, it has the first located its parts in the urban popular classes of its country.

In 1929, Yeats having refused to represent its part The Silver Tassie with the Theater of the Abbey by fear of the reactions of the public, it left in England and remained there until the end of its life. The trilogy dublinoise gathers the shade of a franc-tireur , Junon and the peacock and the plow and the stars . Through the daily newspaper of Dublinois of the poor districts, the trilogy treats key moments of the Irish history such as the insurrection of Easter 1916, the War of independence between 1919 and 1921 as well as the civil war which followed the partition of the country. The language of its characters is close to that of the Irish popular classes, one can see there the influence of John Millington Synge. The film " The young CASSIDY " realized partly by John FORD recalls his beginnings of writer in DUBLIN.
