The family of the Scytopetalaceae is a family of plants Dicotylédone S. According to Watson & Dallwitz it includes/understands 20 species divided into 5 kinds:

  • Brazzeia, Oubanguia, Pierrina, Rhaptopetalum, Scytopetalum .

They are trees of the subtropics to tropical of Africa.

The phylogenetic classification incorporates this family in the Lecythidaceae in the order of the Ericales .
