Scribus

Scribus is a Logiciel of free CAM, distributed under license GNU LPG. If it is still perfectible (in particular with regard to the edition of the texts), it has many functionalities which even equalize exceed its commercial competitors (in particular export with the format pdf). Scribus is appropriate perfectly for the realization of Plaquette S, of S and of Magazine S. delivers.

Developed at the origin for the platform Linux, Scribus also functions under Mac OS X thanks to the utility Fink and with the graphic waiter X11; a native version (Aqua) using the library Qt is also available. A native version Windows exists in beta release since January 2006.

Scribus uses an authority of XML, SLA, like native format of document.

After having developed two versions in parallels, the 1.2.x and the 1.3.x, the developers of Scribus announced, the November 9th 2006, that the stable version would be from now on the 1.3.3.x, and the unstable version the 1.3.4cvs. The version 1.2.x is not developed any more.
