Scream is a Film of horror carried out by Wes Craven in 1996 on a scenario of Kevin Williamson. This film marked the rebirth of the Slasher in the years 1990 while carrying a glance distancié on the traditional ones of the kind. Wes Craven by this film carries a glance on the kind and in fact its analysis, the continuations continue this work, the third opus finalizes it and goes even until a total Mise in abyss of the kind.

Synopsis

Strange murders follow one another in the small town of Woodsboro. A police inspector a little denied and a Journaliste working in the tabloid press carry out the survey.

Scream was prolonged by two continuations, Scream 2 and Scream 3 . It also inspired a film multitude: one can quote Souviens… last summer 1 and 2 ( I Know What You Did Last Summer ), Urban legend 1 and 2 and of the parodies such as Scary Movie .

Anecdotes

The mask which the killer carries is inspired by the face of a table of Edvard Munch entitled the Cry ( The Scream in English).

Wes Craven had initially thought of giving the role of Sidney Prescott to Drew Barrymore. But the timetables did not coincide and it finally decided to write that of Casey to him, the first of the victims.

At one time in film, Syndey runs in a corridor of its college. One sees there an employee who cleans a corridor, affublé of a fedora and of a green and red sweater, like Freddy Krueger, killer of the series of Freddy celebrates, started and finished by Wes Craven. Pink McGowan is the interpreter of famous Paige Halliwell of Charmed which succeeded Shannen Doherty.

Scream was one of first films to really giving their chance to the actors of televised series. Here, Courteney Cox ( Friends ) and Neve Campbell ( life with five ) then in both, Sarah Michelle Gellar ( Buffy against the vampires ), Jerry O' Connell ( Sliders, parallel worlds ) and Rebecca Gayheart ( Beverly Hills 90210 ), finally in the three, Kelly Rutherford ( Melrose Places ).

Various facts

A 17 year old teenager took as a starting point the film to massacre a 15 year old young girl, the June 3rd 2002 in Loire-Atlantique. In April 2004, it was condemned to 22 years of prison. In addition, in Australia, a ten year old child killed all his family after having looked at this film.
